Welcome!

Hi there... welcome to the BU3753 Leadership blog.

The Leadership blog is the forum via which we'll discuss topics pertinent to our class, and hopefully stimulate some interesting and stimulating conversation.  Each week you'll find a new topic here, and you're encouraged to log in at least three times weekly to speak your mind.

As for this week, the assignment is easy.  Simply respond to this post by telling the rest of the class three things:

(a) Your name

(b) Something about yourself (where do you work? what do you do? how long have you been a student? what are you studying? what are your future plans? anything else?)

(c) Your reasons for taking BU3753 and what you would like to get out of the experience.

Thanks all - chat soon!

Robert.

  1. Hi there,

My name is Barb and I am in Cohort 22 at Crandall, set to graduate in April 2011 in the ALPS program, with a BA in Organizational Management. Ultimatley, my goal is to enroll in the Education Program before I reach the age of retirement :) I am taking this course because I am in a leadership role in my current career and have been for many years. Any help I can get is always GREAT!

  2. Hello,
My name is Jackie Cantin. I was a student in the ALPS Cohort 18 and I am just finishing up my electives. I will graduate in November 2011. Yay!

I have taken several of Robert's courses and find a lot of value in them as they apply to the workplace. I work at School District 02 and I see many leadership styles in my work. It will be interesting to understand how leadership develops, and why different styles emerge.

I am looking forward to getting to know everyone online!

  4. Hello! My Name is Megan Irving and I am studying towards my Business Degree at Crandall. I work part time for the Moncton Wildcats and study with the rest of my time! I chose to take Leadership this Spring because Rob's courses are always interesting and I feel that leadership is key to a successful career in the business world. I hope at the end of this course to feel that I have learned the tools to become an effective leader when needed in the work place!

  5. Happy Friday everyone!

My name is Heather and I am entering my fourth year of the BBA program. I was fortunate enough to be able to enroll into the Co-op program, so for the summer I am working at an Accounting firm. I plan to graduate in April 2012 and eventually start working towards my CA.

I am taking this course because (a) Rob's courses are always interesting; and (b)I read a book about it once, and I want to explore other perspectives.

  11. Hey Everyone, my name is Kemoy Shaw. I am completing my BA in Sociology, working on a certificate in Youth Leadership and working towards a Bachelor of Education. Im taking this course because its the last course that I need for my Youth Leadership Certificate. I think this course will be interesting and give me some insight as I hope to lead the Crandall Chargers Mens Basketball Team to an ACAA championship and National Champion before my years here are finished.

  13. Howdy !

My name is Tommy Wood. I am an avid bowler and recently returned from the “NB Provincial Tournaments” which are held from May 2nd until the 14th. Our team finished 6th in the province and i finished in a tie for 5th place in the singles.

Also, I frequently play guitar hero and Pokemon cards (in a Pokemon card league nonetheless) with my 10 year old son Ethan.

I want to take leadership because I feel like my father is a good leader and I always admired him for it. I would like to learn how to lead people in a way that does not make them feel diminish in importance. (Like my dad does)

    Take care, spike your hair.
    Tommy
